📓Rules and Safety

We aim to make Onwards a safe space for everyone, and to ensure that, we've created an encompassing list of rules for our players to follow.

Our Rules

The following behaviours are not allowed and will be punished respectively:

General Rules

G1: Ignoring Staff

This includes:

• Not stopping when being asked to by Staff

• Arguing with Staff when having been asked to stop

G2: Advertising Not Related to Onwards

This includes:

• Talking about/advertising other Minecraft servers

• Advertising anything that’s not Onwards-related (please use DMs for that)

G3: Unfair Advantages

This includes:

• Resource packs that give unfair advantages such as X-ray (Fullbright is allowed)

• Baritone

• Any hacks

• Litematica Printer

G4: Negatively Impacting a Player's Town

This includes:

• Unwanted modification in others’ claims/towns

• Joining a town with the intention of griefing/raiding it by bypassing permissions

• Claiming in a malicious way to impede on a town’s progress/growth

• Destroying the immediate area around a town to affect its progress/growth

G5: Negatively Affecting a Player's Experience

This includes:

• Continued unwanted behaviour towards another player

• Teleporting to a player with the intention of claiming their non-claimed land

• Trapping/TP-trapping

• Inappropriate skins/builds/creations

• Scamming/intentionally giving misleading information

G6: Trading for non-Onwards Items

This includes:

• Trading in-game items for real life money

This does not include:

• Trading in-game items/money for anything bought on the Onwards store

G7: Alt Exploitation

This includes:

• Having an unauthorised alt account (multiple people having one account each is allowed)

• Exploiting the use of another player’s account for its per-player rewards

G8: Malicious Behaviour

This includes:

• Abusing bugs or glitches

• Knowing of but not reporting a bug or a glitch

G9: No Intention to Play

This includes:

• Joining Onwards with the sole intention of breaking our rules

Chat Rules

C1: Unwanted Chat Behaviour

This includes:

• Chat Disturbances, such as spamming, bypassing the chat filter, etc.

• Not speaking English in Global Chat

• Discussing religions or politics (of any kind)

• Discussing/commenting on a player’s punishment(s) (#open-a-ticket if you have an issue)

C2: Disrespectful Language

This includes:

• Name calling

• Offensive names/signs/text

• Excessive swearing

• Swearing at other players

C3: NSFW Chat Content

This includes:

• Sexual talk or jokes, including innuendos

• Talking about smoking or drinking of alcoholic beverages

C4: Mute Evading

This includes:

• Communicating with other players in any form after being muted

C5: Threatening Behaviour

This includes:

• Harassment, blackmailing, doxing etc.

• Threatening to do any of the above

• Any other threats towards players or the server

C6: Discriminatory Language

This includes:

• Use of language that tends to stereotype individuals, groups, races, nationalities or minorities

• Words and phrases that are used to promote prejudice and hatred

C7: Racial Slurs

This includes:

• Use of words whose only connotations are racial slurs, such as the n-word

FAQ

I'm confused about a rule, what do I do?

If you are uncertain about anything to do with our Rules, you can either ask a member of staff in-game or on our Discord to clarify things for you, or you can #open-a-ticket if you would prefer that instead.

Why is NSFW language not allowed?

Transparency is the key focus of our server, and from previous experience of handing out punishments, having certain words be allowed, but not others, creates a grey area of what does and doesn't need to be punished, which can even vary from one staff member to another. Not allowing any NSFW language means that everyone has the same parameters, and any punishment given for breaking this rule will be fair.

Why can't I discuss/see other players' punishments?

When a player has broken a rule, the Staff team ensures that they are correctly and fairly punished based on the severity of the offence, amongst other factors. These decisions are made behind the scenes in order to minimise disruption to the community, such as drama or retaliation.

Note: There are special circumstances in which staff may deem it necessary to divulge a player's punishments, but this is at the discretion of Management.
